THE SECRET ORIGIN OF WORDBLOXX (TM)

Years ago, I met a talented writer who challenged herself (and her writer’s block) by using common dice to help generate random writing prompts. The idea stuck with me as a way to make the whole process of idea generation more tactile, more fun and more challenging.

Since that time, I’ve founded and continue to run two writers groups, focused on assisting authors of all skill level and genre with the craft of writing and publishing. A highlight of those groups is when we run interactive writing sessions and offer a series of prompts to guide the writing. Then the group members share their short works. It’s astounding how the same prompts can lead writers in completely different directions. It is also impressive how inspiring and entertaining the process is to everyone.
